Allergy Services
Inhalant allergies affect areas of the ears, nose, and throat, thus making evaluation and treatment of these allergies an important part of this specialty.
Serial Dilution Antigen Endpoint Titration
A series of small injections is made in rows on your upper arm with a very small amount of antigen creating a series of bumps (like mosquito bites). After 10 minutes, each bump is examined and measured. The size of the bump helps the doctor to determine how sensitive you are to specific allergens. Subsequent treatment may include allergy shots which will be strictly measured doses according to your allergy results.
Some of the more common allergies include
Immunoglobulin E
An immunoglobulin E (IgE) test measures the antibodies in the blood that are associated with allergic reactions. This test is geographically specific for inhalent as well as food allergies. No preparation is required for this simple blood draw.
